Creative and performing arts camps for ages 11-17 and 18+. Residential and non-residential courses with options in acting, directing, producing, special effects makeup or writing.

For schools and youth groups, we offer one-off workshops and schemes of work in confidence-building, team-building, devising, improvisation, issue-based and community drama.

ACT 2 CAM was established as an after-school club in 2008 by professional actor and Head of Drama, Stephen Woods. Over the last decade, the company has grown to 15 centres in Darlington, Durham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, North Shields, Washington and Whitley Bay.
To inspire young people to discover their own confidence, creativity and community, following their chosen paths in acting, design, filmmaking, producing and creative writing, at our weekly drama classes and summer camps.
We are a person-centred drama school. We hold all our students in unconditional positive regard. We believe young people should control the content and the direction of their own projects. Groups take charge of their own films, setting their own themes, stories, characters, goals and budgets.
ACT 2 CAM is at the forefront of creative and performing arts education. We strive to develop new processes and understandings through our craft. 2020 is a very exciting year for us; we are currently working hard on acting-and-psychology research with Newcastle University.
We promise to provide a positive, supportive environment, where our students feel valued and empowered. To cultivate self-awareness, self acceptance and self-belief; to build confidence, creativity and community through the creative and expressive arts.
